First Day Photo brings the professional photographer to you, right in the comfort of your birth center room. The session is done almost before you knew it started, and your edited images are ready to view and purchase in the time it takes to do that next feeding.
This is what we do every day, and we specialize in capturing the best of babies when they are oh so fresh and new, just like the day you met. You know what we mean: you can see your new little one changing before your eyes!
FAQs
When and where will my session take place?
Your session will be performed usually the first day following birth in the comfort and convenience of your hospital room. Be sure to book early, as your hospital prefers we avoid sessions on your day of discharge.
How long does the session take?
Sessions usually last 15-20 minutes. Your photographer will then exit the room, edit your session, and return to your room to present a slideshow of your session photographs to you.
How much does it cost?
Your session is FREE. Your photographer will show you a slideshow of your photos shortly after your session. If you like the photographs we create for you and wish to own them, you may purchase professional prints and/or high resolution digital files for immediate download and self-printing/sharing. We have purchasing options to fit every budget, beginning at $35.
How do I prepare, and what should I bring?
A fuzzy or textured blanket makes a great background. Reds and fuscia tend to make baby’s skin look a bit redder than it normally would look, so think about that while selecting that favorite outfit.
What if I’m already at the hospital and I didn’t plan for photos, or I left my hospital bag at home?
Remember: this is your now. It’s all about your baby anyway, so a fresh white sheet and diaper are just perfect with a cuddle from mom or dad.
Can other family members be included in the shoot?
Yes! We encourage both parents and siblings to participate.
What if my baby is in the NICU?
We will gladly accommodate NICU sessions whenever possible. Contact us to book your session, or ask your nurse to help with scheduling.
How do I schedule my session?
Please call/email/text us shortly after your birth to schedule your shoot.
Does First Day Photo offer AT HOME sessions?
Yes. Due to the recent pandemic, we have launched First Day Photo - AT HOME for clients that prefer an at-home experience.
